I came across this photo on the web and I love it. It just makes me happy to look at it. I just might go ahead and buy it. Hmmmm…..

Speaking of rope swinging into a rainbow coloured lake… it’s been snowing in Whistler! We’ll be skiing in just a month and I can’t wait. Ciao for now!

Last Frontier Heli or maybe the Promise Land?

I struck gold a few weeks ago and got to spend 4 glorious days at Last Frontier Heliskiing to shoot photos and video with Dave Silver and Grant Baldwin Videography. The terrain at Bell II is unbelievable and we lucked out with bluebird turns in the Alpine. I highly recommend saving your pennies and making a trip up there. It’s a beautiful area right by the Alaska/BC border and the staff/food/skiing/lodging/everything are A++. I can’t wait to see the footage and pics! These are a few photos from my iphone. Someday I’ll carry an actual camera with me. Maybe.

Disentis, Switzerland…. full of powder and Scandinavians

We had 9 beautiful days of skiing in Disentis with every possible kind of weather, though you can’t tell from the sunny photos below. We started out with bluebird breakable crust, to snowstorms, to amazing tree skiing when the avy danger got high, and finally a couple of days of bluebird alpine pow. Oh my!

The Nangijala Hostel/Bar is the place to stay in town. It’s run by 4 scandinavian skiers/bikers who throw a great apres party. Or maybe it’s the only apres in Disentis, either way, it was bumping.

We met a group of Norwegian tele skiers and also met up with Andre’s friend Christian Bjork. We were lucky that we got to do a couple of alpine runs from the top of Disentis to the nearby town of Sedrin. Once it snowed we avoided that area because of the avy paths. The rest of the time we skied powder in the trees and didn’t really have many people competing with us for fresh snow, just the way I like it!

The only downside is I might have forgotten our camera there, which is why these photos are a little limited. Balls.

Amsterdam in a day

This is what 24 hours in Amsterdam looks like.

I can’t wait to go back and see more. Next stop Disentis, Switzerland to ski!

Got off at the wrong stop off the train. Oops.

Andre figuring out how the heck we’re going to get out of here.

Shred Kelly

This is a band I’d like to see in a small ski town, in a local pub, in a room full of skiers. I can just picture a sea of tuques stomping and dancing along. Enjoy!

Girls Day Out Revelstoke – from my phone

Just got home from a weekend in Revelstoke. Here’s some cell phone pics from the trip. Sorry for the quality.

Day 1 all of us coaches got to ski together to get familiar with the resort.

Night 1 we hung out and ate a lot of vegetables. That’s just what girls do.

We also did hairwraps. Vegetables and crafts and skiing. I couldn’t think of a better day.

Tessa made me a new tuque on the way home. Thanks Tessa! I love it.

Made it home and went to the Beats Antique show at the GLC. It was my first Electronic style show. Soooo good. I think I’m hooked. I also think I might quit school and skiing and become a drummer. Hmmmm….

If you’d like to see actual skiing photos from Girls Day Out, check out the official Girls Day Out blog.

Or watch the video recap made by the talented Zoya Lynch. Thanks for the great weekend all! Looking forward to Girls Day Out Kicking Horse in March!
